Anzac Day 2019

ANZAC DAY 2019

Australians and New Zealanders are invited to attend an Anzac Day service in Moscow on Thursday, 25 April 2019.

The service will commence at 7:30am sharp at the Australian Ambassador's Residence (Kropotkinsky pereulok 13). Following the service there will be a gunfire breakfast hosted by the Australian Chargé d’Affaires.

If you wish to attend the service and gunfire breakfast, please register your attendance with the Australian Embassy by Monday, 22 April.

For registration, please email your name, surname and citizenship information to [email protected]. In subject line, please indicate: Registration for Anzac 2019

All those attending the service will be required to present photo ID.

Please note that no parking will be available at the Australian Ambassador’s Residence. We recommend coming by metro. The closest metro station is Park Kultury.

Following the service, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Australian Embassy and Ambassador of New Zealand will each lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexandrovsky Sad.

Russia, as an allied nation, itself suffered tremendous losses during WWI and WWII. The Australian and New Zealand Embassies in Moscow wish to formally acknowledge these losses and our collective stand against military aggression.

This wreath-laying will take place at 11:00am and members of the Australian and New Zealand community in Moscow are invited to observe the ceremony.
